It's impossible. I had the same problem and didn't find any solution. You have to finish Dead Kings to come back or use a former save. If there's something else, I don't know what. You gotta beat the first mission, if though you may be way under-leveled. Just one of the many many ways this broken-ass game is broken.

I went to fast Travel back to the Cafe to get my income and i accidently seemed to have been over the fast travel icon for Franciade and it started the Dead Kings DLC. in the memory menu it's Sequence 13 and i'm only in 5 so sorta don't want to play it until i beat the main game, however i can't exit out of the memory as Assassin's Creed: Unity Main Story 17 Hours Main + Sides 35 Hours Completionist 79 Hours All Styles 31½ Hours
Well you're simply not playing it the way it was meant to be played, you're supposed to go through it slowly and carefully, leveling up as you go. Not blazing through the story, this was intended to be the the most difficult Assassin's Creed yet and I am loving it. 12. Pvt-Booger.
