Most of Bob Marley 's early music was recorded with Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer, who together with Marley were the most prominent members of the Wailers. In 1972, the Wailers had their first hit outside Jamaica when Johnny Nash covered their song "Stir It Up", which became a UK hit.
After The Wailers released the song for the first time in the late 1960s, the song was later re-recorded and released in 1973 by Bob Marley and the Wailers. It appeared on their critically acclaimed Catch a Fire album. This album made a name for itself as one of the greatest reggae albums of all time.
"Judge Not" is Bob Marley's first recorded single, recorded at Federal Studios released on Leslie Kong's Beverley's Records in Jamaica in 1962 and on Island Records in the UK the following year. With a ska beat, Marley has a youthful voice, as he was 16 years old at the time of recording. Headley Bennett performed saxophone on this recording.
