Anime. The 2011 adaptation has more episodes and adapts more arcs. 2011 version is more advanced, better quality (obviously) and a little more fast paced. How ever I would recommend you watch the first episode of the 1999 series it has some elements they omitted from the 2011 one. 2011 is the one you wanna watch.
